Gavin Attwood, age 45. I am a recreation professional managing the 168,500sq ft Apex Center in Arvada, CO. In my spare time I enjoy climbing the Rocky Mountain 14,000ft peaks and trail running on the Front Range.
I was born and raised in the UK. In my youth I trekked and climbed extensively in the European Alps. In the early 90’s I emigrated to New Zealand and taught Outdoor Education to high school students. During this time I completed three Ironman triathlons and was honored to represent the UK in two Triathlon World Championships.
In 2000 I settled in Denver and met Erik through a mutual friend. I trekked to Mt Everest basecamp with Erik’s climbing team in 2001. In 2002 I was a member of the team that climbed Mt Elbrus in Russia. I also recently supported Erik’s Primal Quest team that successfully finished the grueling 450 mile adventure race.
I am really looking forward to meeting and working with the children and staff from the school in Lhasa.
