Kami Tenzing Sherpa, Khumjung, Nepal, Expedition Sirdar and Climber, age 43. Kami was born and raised in the Solu Khumbu area of Nepal and is a veteran of over 26 Himalayan expeditions, including Everest, Shishapangma, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Makalu, Pumori, and Putha Hiuuchuli. Kami has climbed with members of the team on Everest in 1998 and 1995 and Cho Oyu in 1997. In 2001 Kami was the Sirdar for the NFB Everest Expedition where he successfully coordinated the ascent of Everest by the first blind climber, the oldest climber, the first American father & son team, and the most team members from one expedition. Kami was invited to the White House Oval Office to meet President Bush. He is married and has two children.
